Marti Chamberlain -- Board Member
Marti began rowing in 2013 but found her rowing home at NMRC in 2025. She lives in Suttons Bay with her husband Paul, tending beehives, gardening, reading and enjoying their two daughters and five grandkids. Retiring from Cornell University in 2026 after a 30 year career in corporate learning will allow Marti the time she wants to devote to rowing and the NMRC's community.

Gary Chleboun -- Board Member
As a result of an NMRC learn to row in 2021, Gary began rowing and was hooked. While he has enjoyed rowing in all the boats, his ultimate favorite is his single on Glen Lake at sunrise and sunset. He is a retired physical therapist who spent 38 years at Ohio University’s Department of Physical Therapy enjoying a balance of teaching, research, clinical work and higher education administration.

Mindy Hawley -- President, LL Location Coordinator
Mindy calls Lake Ann home with her two teenagers and never misses their soccer or hockey games. By day she’s in sales for R.H. Hirt Co. , a specialty food distributor. A passionate rower for over a decade, she owns a single and double and loves rowing on Lake Leelanau. A car accident kept her off the water in 2025, but she stayed involved with NMRC behind the scenes. Now recovering, she looks forward to returning to rowing and this wonderful community. She also enjoys cooking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing.

Lindy Kellogg -- Social, Indoor Rowing
A life-long water person, Lindy began rowing in 2016. She enjoys rowing 8+, but the 4+ is her favorite. Rowing checks many boxes for Lindy; connection with the water and nature, a good workout, and a vibrant NMRC social community. When Lindy is not rowing, she enjoys competitive canoe racing, and curling. She is raising two awesome girls with her partner, Tom, and works with the Leelanau Conservancy as Event and Volunteer Manager.

Cam Lanphier -- GL Location Coordinator
Cam began rowing on Glen Lake in 2021 with NMRC. When she is in California in the winter, she rows with Marin Rowing Association, so she is fortunate to be able to be in a boat year round. Sculling is her go-to and a quad is her favorite boat. She is a retired high school math teacher and volunteer on a couple of non-profit boards including the Leelanau Conservancy.

Cindy Opie -- Treasurer
Cindy began rowing in 2017. An avid athlete all of her life, she quickly fell in love with the sport and enjoys spending as much time on the water as she can. Her favorite boat is the quad, but she’s happy to jump into an 8+. When she’s not rowing, she is a marketing consultant by day and the proud mom of three boys.

Daniel Schillinger -- Competitive Program
Daniel was an active cross country runner who began his rowing career at Michigan State in 1999.
Fast forward 24 years; marriage, 5 kids, and a business, he needed to get on the water again.
He loves pulling hard on any starboard oar, in any boat, including a pair (yee haw!) and is learning to row a currently very wobbly racing single.
