• Mindy Hawley

Mindy Hawley -- Board President / LL Location Coordinator

Mindy first started rowing a single when she was 25 years old for a couple of years. She picked it back up 7 years ago and can’t imagine not being a part of this community. She loves rowing in the 8+ and in her double on Lake Leelanau the best.

  • Susan O'Connor

    Susan O'Connor -- Board VP / Secretary

Susan has been rowing for over 10 years and loves everything about the sport! She loves the solitude of rowing her single on Lake Leelanau and the teamwork and camaraderie of rowing in larger shells with others. Susan is an educator for Northwest Education Services and holds a Bachelor's degree in English and French and a Master's Degree in Educational Administration.

  • Cindy Opie

    Cindy Opie -- Board Treasurer

Cindy has been rowing for the past six years. An avid athlete all of her life, she fell in love with rowing and enjoys spending as much time on the water as she can. Her favorite boat is the quad, but she’s happy to jump into an 8+. When she’s not rowing, she is a marketing consultant by day and the proud mom of three boys.

  • Diane Hamilton

Diane Hamilton -- Board Member / GL Location Coordinator

Diane was one of the founding board members of NMRC in 2021. She began rowing at age 58 and has since developed a passion for racing. Any boat, anywhere, anytime with anybody! • Lindy Kellogg

    Lindy Kellogg -- Board Member

A life-long water person, Lindy began rowing in 2016. She enjoys rowing 8+, but the 4+ is her favorite. Rowing checks many boxes for Lindy; connection with the water and nature, a good workout, and a vibrant NMRC social community. When Lindy is not rowing, she enjoys competitive canoe racing, and curling. She is raising two awesome girls with her partner, Tom, and works with the Leelanau Conservancy as Event and Volunteer Manager.

  • Holly Reay -- Board Member

Holly has just a few years behind the oars, but quickly fell in love with the flexibility that rowing offers. She recently purchased her own single and enjoys peaceful mornings on Glen Lake, and is looking forward to learning to sweep on LL. Holly and her husband split their time between Glen Arbor & Troy, NY where their daughter lives. In NY, Holly rows on the Hudson and counts her blue-water blessings every time!

  • Daniel Schillinger -- Board Member

Daniel was an active cross country runner who began his rowing career at Michigan State in 1999.

Fast forward 24 years; marriage, 5 kids, and a business, he needed to get on the water again.

He loves pulling hard on any starboard oar, in any boat, including a pair (yee haw!) and is learning to row a currently very wobbly racing single.
