Hello NMRC!

The time is here! Well almost … it’s too cold and windy this week darn it!

We were rained out of our second rigging day last weekend and the weather has turned brisk. Nevertheless, the NMRC Board has prepared a schedule to start the season strong once the weather cooperates! Check out the outline below and also remember to sign up for where you can for volunteer opportunities!

2025 Season One Schedule - Monday, June 2nd

Our primary goals are to fill boats and offer a solid variety of session times. These initial offerings may change based on attendance. Remember — it is critical to show up when you sign up so your boat can get on the water! Look in your inbox for an email, coming soon, with boat assignments for experienced rowers.

Intermediate and Experienced Team Boat Sweep sessions:

  • PM Monday and Tuesday— 5:45pm to 8pm

Intermediate and Experienced Sculling sessions:

  • AM Monday, Wednesday, Thursday— 7:00am to 9am

Novice session:

  • PM Thursday — 5:45pm to 8pm

All Level Community Row session:

  • AM Sunday — 8:00am to 10:30am

Small boat certified rowers can reserve small boats outside of scheduled sessions and during the Monday and Tuesday nightteam boat sessions. If you have questions, please email Mindy at mindy@northernmichiganrowing.club.

Park Clean Up, Fence expansion, Finish Rigging Day!

Saturday, May 31st, 10am-2pm

We need all hands to finish the park clean up. Way more leaves this year! Please bring rakes and gloves. We also need some muscle to expand the fenced in area. We will move the T posts out and re-secure the fencing. Lastly, we will finish rigging and organizing the fleet. Sign up is available in iCrew events.

National Learn to Row — JUNE 7

National Learn to Row day this year is on Saturday, June 7. We offer this at no cost and it is truly the best opportunity to get a Learn to Row in at the beginning of the season. The event takes place at 8:30-1:00pm (end time may vary depending on number of participants).

Please email row@northernmichiganrowing.club to get on the list for this class. Once you are on the list, we will send out email instructions to get you set up on iCrew and to complete your required waivers.

If you are an experienced rower and would like to help make this day a success, we will have a sign up in iCrew.

Can’t make this one? Keep an eye out for additional Learn to Row opportunities!

New NMRC Merchandise Order Window CLOSED

Depending on your choice at time of ordering, your merchandise order will be shipped directly to you or you can pick it up at Threads located on Cass St south of S. Airport Rd. You should receive an email or a call letting you know that your order is ready. Please give ideas and feedback by emailing row@northernmichiganrowing.club.
